Organization and Installation – Flight Safety Officers (FSO)
Course Description
Much like our CFSO course, the Organization and Installation Flight Safety Officers class (FSO) is designed provide a comprehensive knowledge base and training experience on the investigations procedures, policies, and techniques with regards to an aviation accident/mishap investigation to those responsible for full-time organizational or installation flight safety officer duties. Integrating the knowledge gained in this course with their experience in the field and applying the proper rules and regulations, these flight safety officers will be equipped to act as the investigator for military aircraft accidents/mishaps of all classes.
This course has been designed to provide an extremely high level of comprehensive, thorough investigation training and education to military personnel in a continued effort to improve military aviation programs.
Course Attendees
The FSO course has been designed primarily to work on further education and training for military personnel appointed with the duties of an organizational flight safety officer. These individuals will gain a more in-depth look at aircraft accident/mishap prevention and investigation procedures and policies, along with the details necessary to develop an effective investigation process. Individuals in attendance will gain a detailed, thorough knowledge of the military aircraft mishap prevention process.

Understanding fully the procedures, policies and methods of an accident/mishap investigation is critical. - Education of basic knowledge of human factors and human performance that pertain to aircraft accidents/mishaps. In addition, gain knowledge of the physiological limitations and impact on the aviation situation
- Receive instruction of methods to be used to establish, administer, and assess an installation-level aircraft accident/mishap prevention program
- Exclusive program planning to meet the specific needs of a customer's particular organization
- Understanding of the details of the Human Factors Analysis and Classification System (HFACS) and how to use this system in the investigation process
- Thorough understanding of the rules and regulations set forth for the investigation process, including those that pertain to investigation technology, analysis and reporting
- Comprehensive training and education of the investigation process in its entirety to be completely prepared in all aspects of future aircraft accident investigations
- Understanding of legal issues that commonly arise in flight safety
- Education on various facets of flight safety, including aircraft maintenance, safety inspections, airfield safety, etc.
- Learn about the crucial elements of an effective flight safety program and who they can be applied to a specific organization
- Meets the goals and expectations of the United States Air Force Flight Safety Officer Course WCIP 05C
Administration
With (L/D)max Aviation, this Flight Safety Officer course training will take place over the course of 20 academic days. This is classroom instruction time that includes lectures outlines and notes, up-to-date reference materials pertinent to discussions, and a final certificate of completion once all 160 hours have been completed.
