Comprehensive Flight Safety Officers (CFSO)

Course Description

This course is designed to meet the needs of military aviation safety officers with a working knowledge of aircraft mishap prevention and mishap investigation procedures, policies and techniques. Course graduates will be capable of performing the duties of a full-time organizational or installation flight safety officer and as the investigator for aircraft mishaps of all classes. Military aviation safety officers perform a number of duties with regards to aircraft accidents/mishap prevention. To address these responsibilities and to enhance their abilities to investigate these incidents thoroughly, efficiently, and accurately, (L/D)max Aviation has designed the Comprehensive Flight Safety Officer course, otherwise referred to as FSO. This course is designed to provide these officers with a detailed knowledge base to aid them in aircraft accident/mishap prevention. In addition, this course provides a comprehensive look and education on the investigations procedures, policies, and techniques with regards to an aviation accident/mishap that has taken place.

Integrating the knowledge gained in this course with their experience in the field and applying the proper rules and regulations, these flight safety officers will be properly prepared to complete the responsibilities associated with a full-time organizational or installation flight safety officer. They will also be equipped to act as the investigator for military aircraft accidents/mishaps of all classes.

Course Attendees

The CFSO course has been designed primarily to work on further education and training for military personnel appointed with the duties of an organizational flight safety officer. These individuals will gain a more in-depth look at aircraft accident/mishap prevention and investigation procedures and policies, enhancing their value to the investigation process. In addition, individuals looking to gain a more detailed, thorough knowledge of the military aircraft mishap prevention process on both a national and international level will also benefit from the content of this course.

Administration

With (L/D)max Aviation, the Comprehensive Flight Safety Officer course takes place over 37.5 academic days. This is classroom instruction time that includes lectures outlines and notes, up-to-date reference materials pertinent to discussions, and a final certificate of completion once all 300 hours have been completed.
