Flight Data Analysis in Investigations (FDAI)
Course Description
As the world works together to discover new, innovative ways to investigate aircraft accidents of all kinds, one aspect that has becoming increasingly important is flight data analysis. While this can be complex and challenging, the benefits of looking closely at the details of this particular aspect of aircraft investigations can be crucial to the development of safety programs. Developing a strong knowledge of how these systems work, their procedures, and their impact, attendees of this course will gain invaluable knowledge and insight into an area of aircraft accident investigations that is continually becoming more and more important.
Primarily, this course will focus on the elements for conducting analysis of aircraft recorders. Attendees of this course will review recorder design, management requirements, and much more. The instructor will discuss Flight Data Monitoring as well as Flight Operations Quality Assurance. In addition, this class has been set up to allow each student to participate in group analysis projects using actual recorded mediums and data printouts in an effort to give all of the attendees a real-world example of how the flight data analysis applies to actual accidents.
